π€ Bailey’s Q&A Style Tips: How to Style a Sweater Vest
Q: I really want to try out the new sweater vest trend. Tell me all the ways to wear one!
A: The sweater vest trend is kind of a fun one, is it not? Itβs unique, androgynous and, in a way, you donβt know what to make of it. Which is why it makes this trend so intriguing. There are many different styles from the oversized, voluminous fitting sweater vests to the more tailored versions. So, let’s discuss some of my favorite ways to style a sweater vest.
Minimalist Monochrome

Take this classy look to the next level by making it monochrome. Loving an off-white oversized cable knit sweater vest worn over a long white/off-white blouse with off-white wide leg trousers. Or, give it a 90βs spin with high-waisted pleated pants and beige shoes.
High-Neck Neutral

For a chic, sophisticated, neutral look, do a split hem roll neck sweater vest in a neutral tone worn over a longer white crisp blouse. Pair this combo with tight split leggings. Add some animal print booties, leggings and knee high boots, or baggy trousers for a simply modern look.
Sweater Vest Blouse-fit
Hereβs another way to pair your sweater vest with your white blouse. This time make sure your white blouse is long enough to wear it as a dress. Next, layer with your sweater vest. Be it an off-white cable knit, grey/black argyle or basic black. Then, add black over-the-knee or edgy Chelsea lug sole boots. Itβs a vibe.
Sweater Vest with Baggy Jeans

Jump on board the new baggy jeans trend and pair it with a petite sized, cropped even, sweater vest. A solid black vest with white piping would be cute or a preppy argyle print. Itβs a very 90βs vibe – so you can either choose to wear it without anything underneath, a T-shirt or a blouse. Since this is a more casual look, your sporty sneakers will be a perfect touch.
Business Professional Layered

Make the sweater vest high fashion by doing the sleek layered look for winter. You can try out pattern mixing here, or you may choose to go more of the minimalistic/ monochrome route. Whichever you choose, layer your sweater vest under your belt bags, blazers, wool coats, and trenches. Complete your look with jeans and classic sneakers for a casual look. Or combat boots and trousers for a trendy, chic look. Oh, and donβt forget some fun jewelry too!
Fashionably,
Bailey
